IN A NUTSHELL...

The convenience of denial has expired, so I now find myself a middle aged, divorced, father of two whose senior years are waving at me from the not too distant horizon! I’ve turned the page and it’s time for chapter two. I’ve got plenty of work to do and some new choices to make. I refuse to be trapped by a complacent, stale and conventional life. I refuse to have dreams that I then ignore. I want my boy’s epitaph to me to begin with the words, “Dad was utterly bonkers and right up until the very end chanted with gusto, “Never say 'never' and live life large!”

MY STORY

No stranger to stage and screen, Josh Waldhorn is an incredibly prolific jack-of-all-trades in perpetual pursuit of creative “par excellence.” Now, if the well-known adage “creativity runs in the family” t’is truthful, Josh Waldhorn struck gold. As the son of the late English actor and renowned comedian Gary Waldhorn (The Vicar of Dibley, Brush Strokes) and American novelist and poet Christie Dickason (not to mention former director and choreographer with the Royal Shakespeare Company), it’s no fluke Josh followed in his family’s footsteps.  Whether he’s conceiving, designing, directing, managing, marketing, performing or producing, Josh’s creative credentials are as impressive as his artisanship. He’s expressively bold. Professionally crafted. Creatively ambitious. And it probably doesn’t hurt to highlight he’s got an enviable mix of old-school charm, dishevelled good-looks and an incredibly down-to-earth demeanour!  Working both stage and screen across a variety of platforms (TV commercials, films, live shows and theatrical plays through to immersive cabaret), Josh has trodden the boards, headed up productions and directed a variety of unique experiential events and productions at many impressive venues around the globe, notable highlights including the London Roundhouse, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Sydney Opera House as well as the world’s largest celebration of cultural arts and media – the Edinburgh International Festival.  Earning his stripes working with high-profile corporates over a span of three decades both in the UK and Australia, Josh has a strategic “eye” for all things branding, design, events and messaging. “Challenge convention but always with surprise and delight,” reveals Josh. These are the essential ingredients for satisfying consumer appetite and client confidence that he understands and lives by...both as a dynamic visionary and critical thinker.  In the meantime, you’ll soon find Josh roughing it in the rugged Alps of New Zealand’s southern island, as he makes his reality TV debut on Channel 9’s highly-anticipated ‘The Summit.’ A blockbuster action adventure literally chock-a-block with cliff-hangers, 14 climbers carrying backpacks stuffed with their share of $1 million must reach the mountain peak in 14 days if they want to win the booty in their bags. As they tackle dangerous terrain, wild conditions and adrenaline-charged challenges that will block their path, what could possibly go wrong? Luckily for Josh he’s a seasoned trekker, with his most recent summits including Russia’s Mount Elbrus (highest mountain in Europe), Kang Yatze II (Himalayas’ Markha Valley in the Ladakh region of northwest India) and Mount Kilimanjaro (both the highest mountain in Africa and highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world).  ​‘The Summit’ is one epic quest you definitely won’t want to miss, so be sure to tune in and follow Josh on his journey.
